Devi was born in Dharamsala, India and when her father retired from the Indian Army, the family returned to Nepal and set up home in Rithepani on the outskirts of Pokhara.
Devi did not attend school and by 19, was married with 3 children soon following. She learned to sew and knit and linked up with WSDO to learn how to weave too. Devi is one of WSDO's pioneer weavers, a life member and a champion for the women of her region. She is a real advocate for the work of WSDO and hopes they continue to empower women for a long time to come.
