Bhagwati was born in Purkot and is the 3rd of 5 children. She began working aged 12 in local fields to help support her family. She complete her school certificate and moved to Pokhara, finding work at WSDO. She was inspired to work hard for WSDO following the birth of her 2 children, learning how to weave and sew and eventually moving into the Quality Department, overseeing the inspection of all items made before they are sold. Bhagwati would like to return to school and finish her education, but feels she needs to wait until her children are older to do so.
